Slots Tournaments
Slots tournaments are a great way for slot machine lovers to play the slots constantly without spending a great deal of chips, but with the potential to win exceptional prizes, without having to hit a jackpot to do so.
Just like Blackjack or Poker tournaments, players are not required to fund their own chip stack. Well, the same way they would in a standard game, where if your bankroll runs dry, you must add cash to keep playing.
In a online slot machine tournament, each player puts up a pre-set buy-in amount, and is then credited with a specific number of credits. For instance, you may put up a $10 buy-in and get 500 spins to work with. The more you win using those 500 spins, plus any credits won in the process, the better your chances of cashing in the tournament.
How to Win Slots Tournaments
Each slots tournament has a leaderboard, based on points earned throughout the tournament. The two key factors that increase a player’s points are how often and how much they win, plus how many times they spin the reels. Both factors are extremely important if you want to climb the leaderboard ladder.
Let’s say on your first spin, you hit a large win, like 1,000 credits. This is worth a lot of points, and may easily place you at the top of the leaderboard right off the bat, but your status won’t hold out if you quit there. As other players spin the reels time and time again, they earn points that will easily surpass your one-spin-win over time.
Then again, if you spend all of your credits and never hit a significant cash, you’re not likely to have enough points to win either. You must combine wins with spins to come out on tops in slots tournaments.
Online Slot Tournament Strategy
Most slots tournaments offer each player a selection of slot machines they can play. It would be wise to review the slot machines on the menu, checking the pay table for the most payout potential before the slots tournament begins. You should know if betting the max credits offers a higher payout, and if so, be sure to bet max.
If you’re having no luck on one slot machine, don’t hesitate to switch to another. The theory that a losing slot must hit eventually, or that if you lose many times in a row, when you do win it’ll be worth a lot, is 100% false.

Slots tournaments – Scheduled & SNGs
There are two types of Slots Tournaments you may come across. The most common are scheduled events, where the tourney begins and ends at a specific time. The other type, SNG, is a Sit’n’Go tournament, which means that the tourney begins as soon as enough players have registered. The tournament then ends either after so much time has passed, or when players reach a certain level of points.
